CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor). Sir—A paragraph appeared in your issue of May 25th signed "F. G. Moore, County Clerk," with referenda to a probable candidate for a seat on the Masterton County CouboiJ. I would like Mr Moore io explain, through your columns, the reason why Councillor Holmes Warren's name does not appear on the roll of the ratepayers at present in the toll-house at Tawataia, where it is open for public inspection. I maintain that I have not made an error, and the roll above mentioned will prove my statement. I wrote to Mr Moore enquiring if Mr Warren bad resigned as his name did not appear on the County eleotoral roll. Mr Moore replied as follows:—"Replying to yours of the 18th inst., 1 beg to say that you are in error in assuming that Mr Holmes Warren's name has been taken off the County eleotcral roll. This, under the existing law, cannot be altered until Ist July next." Still Mr Warren'a name does not appear on the roll for the Alfredton Riding. I am, etc., A PROBABLE CANDIDATE. Tawataia, May 26th, 1906.
