NIREAHA NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent). Monday. News has reached here of the death of Mrs Evans, of Rangiora, mother of Mrs Berry, of Nireaha. Mr and Mrs Evans arrived in Lyttelton about 56 years ago in the ship "Cressy," and only six months ago they celebrated their diamond wedding. During the football match on Saturday between Nireaha and Hukanui, a player named Popplewell, belonging to the Hukanui team, injure&hia shoulder and had to Jbe removed from the ground. The' contractors have completed the metalling of the road between the oheese factory and the Dairy Union Creamery, and people can now go to any amusement at the ball without wading through mud* The local oheese factory closed for the season last Saturday. Mr A. J. H. Busst, of Nireaha, has purchased a farm at Tauranga, close to tbe one bought by Mr C. Hall, of Nireaha, some time ago. Tbe Saturday evening dances continue to be well attended. The one last Saturday night was a most enjoyable one. Mr Tocker, the Presbyterian Minister atEketahuna, preached his Brst sermon at Kakarike Schoolhouao, on .Sunday afternoon. I
