TARANAKI PETROLEUM.
I NEW PLYMOUTH. May 28. , A special meeting of the shareholders of the Moturoa Oil Company to-day was very largely attended, shareholders being present from Auckland and Wellington. In accordance with the directors' scheme it was unanimously resolved to liquidate the present company and re-construot a new company under the name of the Taranaki Petroleum Company With capital of £120,000, in one pound shares. The shareholders in the Moturoa Oil Company are to receive 56,000 fully paid-up ordinary shares. , A start was made this morning with the erection of "a new derriok on the prison reserve where the next bore will be sunk. Tlie visiting shareholders to-day were more than pleased with the demonstration given at the working bore. <,A few share transactions are still taking plaoe at £57 to £59.
