RONGOMAI.

(From Our Own N Correspondent). RONGOMAI, Thursday. It would seem that an energetic Sohool Committee ha? been elected for Rongomai. Tenders were culled the other day, and Mr W. Evans secured the coutract of laying about 400 tile drain pipes in the school ground. Besides this.: the school garden has been dug, and the agricultural class will, 1 expect, be in full swing shortly. The social held last Friday wag net as successful as those held in previous winters. In the absence of the newly-appointed M.C., Mr D. Nicol, that position was well filled by Mr J. Lozelle. Among those who contributed songs were Messrs J. Edwards and J. Lozelle, and recitations were given by Messrs W. Evans and Stacey Roe. The music was supplied by Messrs H. Cooper and Lozelle.

Mr O. Cooper is looking very, well after his trip to England. He has returned a Benedict. Hares are getting troublesome, end appear to be on the increase. A short time ago this peat was unknown here. Now the shooting season is on very little game is , seen. While on the subject of shooting, 1 would like lo give a word of warning to people trespassing with dog and gun. Last Sunday four men went on a shooting expedition in 30 aeries of bush on private property. They succeeded in bailing up and shooting a tame pig, one of a number the owner of the property had put m the bush to root fern. Enquiries are being made, and more will probably bo heard of the matter. The creamery tests range this week from 4.2 to 4.9, a slight rise on last week. The quantity of piilk supplied to the creamery isdecreasing fast.
