STOCK REPORT. Mr W. Rose reports as follows: During the last fortnight I have held the following sales:— April 9tb, Woodville stock sale.— There was a moderate yarding of cuttlo only. Fat cows realised £4 15s, store cons 25s to 30s, weaners 6b, as and Wn, according to condition. April 14tb, Dannevirke horse sale I had a yarding of between 60 and 70 horses at the commencement of the sale. Bidding was dull but at the end of the sale there wan more life in t, and 1 quitted between 30 and 40 under the hammer and privately. Good draughts (of which theie was a very poor entry) were most enquired for. April 18tb, JSorsewood stock sale. —I had a capital entiy of both sheep and cattle, and practically every line changed hands. 1 quote as follows:—Sheep: Two-tooth wethers 14s 9d and 15s sd, lambs 4s 9d, f.ra. ewes 9*. Cattle: Fat cows £5, 3-year-old steers £4 10s, 2-year-old steers £4 to £4 3s, weaners were piactically unsaleable. Weaner pigs 10s. April 20tb, Dannevirke stock sale. —Ony a moderate entry of sheep and cattle came forward, aud tuo market was extremolj dull, though I did considerable business after the sale. 1 quote ao follows:—Fat ewes 13s 4d, woolly lambs 8s 2d. Cattle: Fat oowa £4 to £5, 2% -year old heifers £2 to £2 10s, 18-months to 2 year-old heifers 355, store cows from £1 upwards. Dairy cows and weaners were unsaleable. Pigs: A big entry of porkers 25s 6d, weaners 6s 6d, 8a 6d up to 13s.
LONDON MARKET ADVICES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received tho following cablegrams from London, dated tho 19th instant: Butter: Market firmer. If we do not soon .have rain, an advance in prices is probable. The Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 14th instant amounted to 77,000 owt., as compared with 68,000 for the corresponding period of last year. There is more demand for unsalted than salted. Frozen meat: There is an aot've demand for lamb, but prices are weaker. Poor demand for mutton; the market is dull owing to lack of demand. The arrivals of beef from the Hiver Plate arc heavy. Our quotations are: New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy, 4%d; North Island, heavy, id; Canterbury, light, sd: North Island, light, New Zealand prime crossbred" mutton, Canterbury, heavy, 4d; North Island, heavy, 3%d; Canterbury, light, 4d; North Island, 3%d. New Zealand prime ox beef, forea, 2%d; hinda, 3>£d.
