FOOTBALL.
The Masterton Janiors journeyed toJDreyerton, on"Saturday afternoon, and wet. a combined team from Dreyerton, Rangitumau and Opaki. The ground was heavy, and the game, which was an interesting one, resulted in a win for the Combined team by 8 points to 3. MoLaohian and Clarke, who both played well for the home team, each scored a try, the latter player converting bis own try. For Masterton, W. Jackson was the only player to orosa the line. Jackson and V. O'Neil in the back line did good work for the visitors, and P. Barry, Osmond and B. Chapman were the pick of the forwards. In the evening the visitors were entertained at a dinner at the Mulgrave Hotel. During the course of a very enjoyable evening, a number of toasts were honoured, and songs were sung by Messrs V*. ON'eil (2), W. Jaokson, 0. Chapman, G. Stewart, and A. Pacey. Mr B. Chapman gave a recitation, and Mr Pacey presided at the piano.
