ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
AUCKLAND, April 2. A gumdiggar named Thomas Conway attempted to commit suicide near Mercer on Saturday afternoon. Apparently he uisoharged two shots at himself from a revolver, as when found by Constable Waterman he had two bullet wounds in the forehead. lie informed the officer that he had tried to shoot himself, but could not account for his action. Hopes of his recovery are entertained.
