STEPHENSON'S MUSICAL COMPANY.

The first production in Masterton of the musical extravaganza, "Bill Adams" will take place at the Town Hall to-night, when Mr George Stephenson's Musical Comedy Company will make their re-appearance, headed by Miss May Beatty and Mr E. Lauri. The piece is promised to be exceptionally well mounted, the period—that of the Napoleonic wars—lending itself to the splendour of military uniforms, whilst there is plenty of opportunity for soenio effeots. The cast will bean exceptionally strong one, inoluding as it does some excellent all-round oomedians and dancers. Mr Laari will be seen in a oharaoter which is said to fit him exoellently—that of Bill Adams, the hero of the piece. Miss May Beatty as Margot has several charming numbers to sing, and the part i 3 one in which she appears to great advantage. Mr McNaughton is also well suited as a dyspeptic Belgian officer, whilst Misses Garatang, Watts-Phillips, Alice Pollard, Mr Charles Albert and the Bovis Brothers have responsible parts. A new baritone, Mr Beeves, of whom report speaks highly, will make his debut here in this pieoe. This will be the last appearance here of this company, a» at present constituted, as most of the principals return to England in May.
