DROWNING FATALITIES.

GISBORNE, February 27.

Two daughters of Henry Ourrie were drowned in the Waimate River, this afternoon. A number of children were bathing, and Duloie Carrie, aged 11 years, got into difficulties, and her sister, aged 15 years, went to her rescue, with the result that both lost their lives. A youth who came to the scene could not swim, and other help arrived too late. The body of the younger girl has been recovered. . ■ "
