THE NEWTOWN TRAGEDY. Received February 15 1.50 a.m. SYDNEY, February 14. At the inquest in connection with the .Newtown tragedy, a witness stated that he had known "Tommy" for fifteen years, and had found him a sober and quiet man. About a month ago "Tommy" showed him a letter which he had prepared, claiming £146 from the Fenwicks. He told witness that he had lent the Fenwicks hundreds of pounds in cash at Richmond River. Fenwiok, in his evideace, denied that he owed "Tommy" any money. EMIGRANTS FOR WESTRALIA. Received February 15, 10.24 p.m. LONDON, February 14. Mr W. James, Agent-General for Western Australia, has arranged with the Orient line for the passage of approved emigrants from London to Fremantle at £7, each adult.
