WAIRARAPA COURSING CLUB.
■ANNUAL MEETING, The annual meeting of tbe members of the Wairarapa Coursing Club, was held last evening. Mr M. 0. O'Oonnell presided, and there were about thirteen otner members present. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts were £SBO 16s 7d, and expenditure £599 13s 4d, leaving a debit blance of £lB 16s 9d. The assets over liabiities showed an increase of £56 lis 3d. The Chairman, speaking on the balance-sheet, said that the Club were nut in such a bad position, as the balance-sheet mignt indicate, for their assets were good, and already two valuable tropbys bad been donated to the Club. The- Club's prizes were the second highest in the colony, and it had been suggested to him that they should be lowered. He did not believe in going backwards, and he was sure the Club would still offer their high prizes. No doubt the Club had suffered severely last season owing to every meeting being held in wet weather, and the support from the public bad not been -what might have been expected. Ou the motion of Mr E. Welch, seoonded by Mr T. Miller, the balance sheet was adopted. The election of officers was then Droceeded with, and resulted as follows:—President, Mr M. 0. O'Oonnell; Vice-Presidents, Messrs J. Miller, J. Cress, A. W. Cave, E. Weloh, J.Maoara, and J. Welch. Treasurer, Mr F. Dupre; Seoretary, Mr J. Cairns; Committee, Messrs 0. Percy, W. Piatt, W. C.
