Punitive columns in the Utiltic provinces are executing insurgents wbolosale. The Czai bas ordered a committeo to enquire into the mismanagement of the Black Sea fleet. M. Durnovo, Minister of the Interior, has forbidden a Mohammedan Congress to meet at Moscow, though scores of delegates travelled thousands of miles in order to discuss political, social, and religious reuiremonte.
GOMEL IN FLAMES
COSSACKS AND "HOOLIGANS" LOOTING THE TOWN.
Received January 31, 10.18 p.m. ST PETERSBURG, January 31. The town of Gomel is in flames, and the Cossacks and "hooligans" are looting the town. MURDER AND REPRISALS.
Received February 1, 12.30 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, January 31. Owing to the murder of two policemea, at Kielae, the general body left the place. The Governor demands the delivery within three days of all arms and explosives held without license, otherwise those found in possession of either arms or explosives will bo shot without trial. In the case cf minors carrying arms the parents and guardians will be, shot.
MORE POLICEMEN KILLED. Received February 1, 12.30 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, January 31. The crowd at Riga stormed the police station and killed three policemen. They released seventeen political prisoners.
