BASKETBALL.
A letter advocating the formation of a girls' basketball club in Upper Hutfc •was published in this paper some weeks ago, and we are pleased to notify the public of Upper Hutt that such a club has now actually been formed. A series of meetings were held, with the following results. The name chosen for the club was the Upper Hutt Basketball Club. The club colours were to be red and grey. Two teams were to be entered in the Hutt Valley competitions, one in the foux~th grade, and one in the fifth grade. Miss Grace Dalton will coach the teams, and she and Miss C. Hathaway ■will be joint selectors. The club's thanks are due to the Upper Hutt Rugby Football Club, •whose courtesy and goodwill have made it possible for the girls to use the gymnasium every Monday evening for practice. The club thanks those generous people -who have assisted it financially and otherwise, and assure them that their assistance has been greatly appreciated. Miss M. A. Franz was elected hon. secretary. Her.address is Ward Street, Wallace ville.
William Powell and Ginger Rogers in. RKO-Radio's "Star of Midnight," brings, to the screen perhaps the best of the modern mystery dramas. Strong in story value, brilliantly enacted, expertly dix-ected, and handsomely mounted, the picture fairly exudes class. Sparkling dialogue adds, greatly to its thoroughly rounded entertainment.
