SOCIAL EVENING.
A very pleasant social and gift evening was held in the R.S.A. rooms on Tuesday evening last in honour of the recent marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Colin Morton (nee Miss Edna Lloyd). The evening had been ax-ranged by Mesdames Stevenson, Fahey and Steele, who, -with the assistance of Messrs. A. W. Humphrey and. R. Langdon, acting as M.'s.C, were successful in maintaining keen and pleasurable interest well into the night. Mr. and Mrs. Morton were the recipients of quite an array of gifts, which Mr. Morton acknowledged in happily expressed terms. The competitions, with which the dances were interspersed, resulted in prizes being accorded as follows: Monte Carlo, Mr. Basil Stevenson and Miss F. Stevenson, Mrs. A. W. Humphrey and Miss Humphrey; Balloon Race, Miss Dale and Mr. D. Smith; Bean Collecting, Miss Edwards and Mrs. Ashford.
