Galbraitb applied for an agricultural lease of section 14, block VI., Tuapeka East. Thomas Scott, for whom Mr, Squires appeared, objected on the ground that an agricultural lease of this section had been refused to him, being scrub land. His Worship eaid«that Galbraith had applied before Scott for the ground, and might then have obtained as much of it as was not scrub land, but did not then think it worth while to take that portion. Scott, when he applied, might also have had had so much as was not scrub land. Adjourned for survey ; all scrub land to be excluded. Archibald Hogg applied for an agricultural lease of section 11, block X., Waitahuna West : and Robert Humphrey for section 12 of the same block. His Worship had some doubt whether these were on the mining reserve or not, and adjourned the application for enquiry, intimating that they would be refused if on the reserve. * James Cook, for whom Mr. Squires appeared, applied for an agricultural lease of section 13. block VIII., Hillend.
