' • Bazaine'B escape was planned by his wife. He descended the cliffs by a, rope ladder, and was conveyed away by a vessel which was in waiting. The officials at the fortress have been placed under surveillance. August 14th. The brother of the Lord Chancellor Bucceeds Lord Normanby in the Governorship of Queensland.
