GOOD TEMPLARY.
{To tlie Editor.)
Sib, — In reply to "Young Wife and Mother," I feel satisfied with "Young Wife's" remarks concerning home and its domestic requirements. But I am doubtful if Bhe is conversant with all the privileges and amiable qualities she refers to as being rolled into one. She is evidently young, and her experience must be very limited in comparison to "AWife of Eight Year's Experience" in the marriage state. Experience teaches men wisdom, and experience must teach " Young Wife " wisdom also. If it is a lesser evil for a drunken woman to atteni Templar meetings, it would be no greater evil for a Bober woman, but a credit to enter into the purer atmosphere of a Templar's hall. All that we would require of "Young Wife" is te assist in uprooting the onemy of mankind, and entreating others to look upon King Alcohol with distrust, and banish for ever from young and old wives' homes the messenger of misery. Then " Young Wife" could attend to her reformatory movements daily, not nightly ; for I have a great aversion to young or old wives sitting up to a late hour in the night, finishing what has been neglected throughout the day by staying too long at Tibby M'lntosh's, or calling upon Mrs. Smoothface till the day is spent in idleness, and home deserted and all its requirements, merely for a yarn with Sally. Fancy "Young Wife" scouting the idea of attending Templars meeting in the evening ; but no wonder, if her domestic duties commence at dusk. The marriage vow must bo of great utility to her ; not so the Templar vow, for the inroads of destruction are fewer in number to the Good Templar. — I am, &c, Cold Waxeb.
