November 27th. A subscription list haa been opened for the benefit of family of the late Captain House. All the Helen Denny's immigrants, excepting Bix families, have been engaged. Nelson, November 27The Exhibition is a splendid success. Notwithstai ding the bad weather, 3.000 persons were present-, Ju.lge Richmond delivered an, interesting impromotu address, on being reminded this was the centenary of Captain Cook's second departure from New Zealand. The exhibits, especially of local manufacture, are generally admired. Auckland. November 25th, The South British Insurance Company ha>ve made a call of 6s per share. At' the meeting of the Chamber of Comawree to-day, J&e .annual report which was
adopted, recommends a new Drawbacks Act in consequence of the altered tariff. Great indignation is felt in Auckland regarding the slanders against the cricketers in Christchurch and Dunedin. A complimentary dinner is to be given to them on their return.
November, 26th. The Teetotallers have purchased the Albert Hall, and celebrated an opening soiree. November 27. TBe Go-ahead has arrived with the clergymen who attend the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, commencing on the 3rd December.

B.IVERTO2T, November 2f. The Immigratiou Officer at Riverton haa forwarded direct to the Agent-General under the new regulations, nominations for 308 souls, equal to 277 adults. Ninety were sent by last mail, the majority of whom were agriculturalists. Alexandba (Waikato), November 25th. Tapihana says he alone has had a bad name at the Waikato hitherto, because ho alone has kept the King's laws. Now, this year he will go to Cambridge to see Te Wheoro ; he will then return to Kuiti, hold a meeting, and give his views. Afterwards, he will meet Mr. M-Clean at the Waikato, when he will freely speak as to what shoul I be done to secure a lasting peace between the races. Tapihana proceeds to Cambridge to meet Mr. Mackay to-day. Chbistchttech, November 25th. His Excellency the Governor, on learning that December 16th is anniversary day, decided to extend his* visit over that date in order to be present at the festivities. Great preparations are being made for the celebration of the anniversary of the Province. There will be public sports on a large scale, and m the evening a grand torchlight procession of all the fire brigades.

The Governor starts overland for Hokitiki on Monday or Tuesday next, returning to Christchurch in about eight days.
