CORRESPONDENCE.
ROXBURGH WARDEN'S COUKT. (To the Editor.) Sir, — I had occasion to visit the Warden's Court, Roxburgh, at its last sitting, and was surprised at the brusque manner in which the Warden treated several of the applicants. One instance in particular I will give you. A miner had put in aa application for land on which to construct a dam. On his applying in the usual form, the Warden asked the applicant who filled in the form. The man replied by stating that it was his own doing. The Warden's reply is well worthy of note : "If you have not sufficient brains to fill in your application in proper form, you had better employ some other person. Application declined." This in a free couutry, and, addressed to the free and independent miner, is surely going i$ rather strong. — I am, &c, Bank Sltjicer.
