WARDEN'S COURT, LAWRENCE.

(Before E. H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) Wednesday, 22ud October. The following applications for agricultural leases were granted upon payment of the ikst half-year's rent .: — Kobert Kerr, section 20, block 1 1 1., Table Hill; Thomas Cros3an, section 19, block IT., Table Hill: Andrew M'Laren, section 18, block 11. ; W. J. Dyer, section 17, block 11., Tablo Hill ; J. Draper, section 14, block TIL, Table Hill ; Jan^es Johnston, sections 12 and 13, block IU. These latter were granted subject to the exclusion of the main creek. survey and payment of first half-year's rent. James C'lellitnd applied for a lease of section 27, block IT, and section 15, block HI., Table Hill. Certificate was granted fur section Jo, block 111., and that part of s-.cHon 27, block 11., on the west aide of fchfi main creek. John Kerr's application for section 21, block 111., Table Hill, was withdrawn. The applications of ' Thomas Gilmore and James Russell for residence areas at Ballarat Hill, Wetherstone3, were objected to by A. Long and others. The Warden decided to postpone his decision to enable him to personally view the ground. Alexander M'Nab's application for a residence area was refused. The following mining applications were """ granted :— lsaac Long and others for an extended claim ; Henry Honeychurch for an extended claim ; William Smyth and party for an extended claim. The following applications for leases in block XIX., Tuapeka East, were refused, the Government having declined to issue any mure leases therein : -Hugh M'Kee, Thomas Brunton, Samuel Anderson, Thomas M'Mullen, Patrick Courtain, John Tuckey, Henry Vye, Geo. Jeffery, and James Y\ lute. John Fry Kitcbing, as agent for Joseph Clarke,- applied for 640 acres of land at Moa Flat, under the Agricultural Leases Regulations. ' Mr. G. Ireland objected to the granting of same on the part of residents at Ettrick, some of the land applied for having been set apart for recreation purposes. Mr. Kitcliing asked for an adjournment, which was granted for 14 days. The same party applied for an agricultural lease of section , block , which, the Warden adjourned for 14 days. Peter'M'Gill applied for a water race for industrial purposes, situate at Ettrick, on the Molyneux. Objected to by John Fry Kitehiug, on the part of Joseph. Clarke, on the ground that the Benger Hum Creek takes its riso on the freehold property of tha latter, and the diversion yf the creek would be an infraction of tha rights of the freeholder. Adjourued for 14 days. liobtjrc Craig applied for an agricultural lease of sections 12, 13, and 16, block IV., Waitahuna East. Objected to by T. E,. Simson, he having buildings erected on part of the ground applied for. The Warden^ quoted a " Gazettee " notice conveying the information that the lease of sections 12 and 13, which were applied fur* by Mr. Simson, had been cancelled. Mr.' Simson stated in evidence that the buildings and other improvements erected on part of the land applied for had cost him £300. John Fitzgerald's application for sections 83 and 89, block 1., Tuapeka East,was adjourned to enable Mr. Fitzgerald to appear personally.
