BLUE SPUR SCHOOL.

The annual statutory education meeting took place on Monday evening last, in the schoolroom. It was half-past eight o'clock befors the Chair was taken. All the members of the retiring Committee were present — with one exception. The Chairman, (Mr. John Cormack) congratulated the meeting — which consisted of 3 gentlemen in addition to t!ie members </f Committee — upon tho prosperous condition of the school, financially, and in other respects. lie then road the (man cial statement, <»f which the following is an abstract:— tteceints— £ 192 18.4 6d ; consisting of School fees and Poor fees, £79 15s 9d ; Government subsidy, £75 ; rent from Oddfellows and Quadrille Club, £9 10s 63 ; prosoeds of Lectures, £11 Is ; Education Hoard, £12 ; cash in hand from last year, £2 18 ; Fire money, £1 19s. Expenditure — Teachers, £150 ; Repairs and improvements to fc'xool building:, £26 53 6d ; Lignite, school prizes, and sundries, £15. The present position of the ccho->l is as fo'lows : — \ mount due Teacher. £26 6s 4d ; Deficiency and incidental'Ss 6d : total, £26 14s lOd. School fees due, £11 4s 6d; Subscriptions, 6.4 fld ; total, £23 14 ; leaving a balance of £3 0s lOd, due to the teacher when fees and snbsciptiom are paid. The Chtirman then called upon the teacher, who read his report of the work done in the school, during the twelve months. Both reports were received and adopted. On the motion of Mr. M'Lelland, a vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Morris, Secretary, for" his services. A vote of thanks . was also accorded to the retiring Committee." The new Committee — which was elected by a show of hands, resulted in the election of the following gentlemen : —Messrs J. CormacV T. F. Morris, Robt. Grieve, W. D. Morrison, W. H. Luke, - Evan Evans, John Cowper, W. M'Nickle, and D. M'lntosh. At the close of the public meeting, the new Committee fciet, when Mr. John Cormack was re-elected Chairman, and Mr. T. F. Morris Hon. Secretary.
