TUAPEKA GOLDFIELDS HOSPITAI .

The usual monthly meeting of the Tuapeka Goldfields Hospital was held in the Commercial hotel, on Tuesday evening last. Present — Messrs. Mears, M'Kimmie, Humphrey, Ferguson, Uren, Arthur, Harrop (treasurer), and Hayes (secretary.) Mr. M'Kimmie was voted to. the chair. * The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary reported that no correspondence- had been received since last meeting. The Surgeon's report was laid on the table. It showed that there was at date 11 indoor patients — 5 paying and 6 nonpaying — and 4 outdoor patients. The Secretary was instructed to obtain, through Mr. Bastings, the President of the iustiUition, from the Provincial .Secretary an order for the admission of incurable patients into the Dunedin I Hospital ; and also to procure, through D*. Stewart, who is a life governor of the Benevolent Asylum, the admission of one patient, now in the Hospital, into that institution. The Secretary was further instructed to confer with the Treasurer with reference to this year' 3 subscription lists ; and to write to those who have not returned their lists to do so at once,, as their delay prevented the issue of the annual report. Some conversation relative to members of Committee canvassing the surrounding | districts for subscriptions then ensued. Finally, Messrs. Uren, Humphrey, and Ferguson volunteered to canvass tlie Blue Spur ; and Messrs M'KimmTe and Hayes Waitahuha. It was decided to forward lists to various stations, and to members of Committee residing in the outlying districts. The Secretary was instructed to impress upon those members the absolute necessity of more strenuous exertions on behalf of the institution.
