WANTON DESTRUCTION.

{To tht Editor.)

Sik, — A most unwarrautaMe wrong, amounting t<> the diabolical, has been perpetrated on this district. I allude to the wholesale destruction of firewood by tire at what is known as Watson's Rush. A. large quantity of scrabwood had been collected in heaps or loads ready for drays, -which can only go there during the summer. This has been almost, totally destroyed by the shepherds setting fire to the grass, or rather scrub and undergroArth, in close proximity to the bush. This, Sir, I believe is an act which calls for the strongest indignation of the inhabitants of this extensive gold field, who entirely depend upon this source, nnd a few other suia.ll patches, for a supply for mining, fencing, and domestic requirements. — I am, &c, Citizen.
