Saturday, August 19. A man named Duncan Ferguson, who was charged with lunacy, was sent to the Dunedin Lunatic Asylum.
Tuesday, August 22. Thomas Aitkin was charged with being drunk and disorderly. — Fined 10s. and costs ; in default, 24 hours in durance vile. The same prisoner was further charged with assauUing Edward Tohill, for which he was fined 40s. cost's of Court, and £2 5s expenses ; in default, ten days' imprisonment in Lawrence Gaol, to be accumulative on the previous sentence. Herbert and Co. v. Donald M* Donald. — Claim, £28 14s. Verdict for amount claimed, with costs. TV. Ah Winyv. Tlwmas King. — Claim, £5 10s 6id. Verdict for amount claimed,
with costs. D. M' Clustery v. S. Leech.— Claim, £2 2s. Verdict for amount, with costs. R. Lancaster v. John Chaplin. — Claim, £17 14. Verdict for £11 4s. Same v. Isaac Butterfield. -Claim, £23 15s. Verdict for plaintiff for amount claimed. John Crawford v. Hugh Irvine. — Claim, £1 15s 2cl. Paid into Court. Corporation of Laivrence v. J. Capstick. — Claim, £1 11s. £1 3s paid into Court. Same v. Ttvomas Hinde. Claim, £4 2s 6d. Judgment reserved. Same v. John Donovan. — Claim, £16 17s. Adjourned to the 24th inst. Same v. Patrick Brosnan. — Claim, £2 3s. Paid into Court. Same v. James Micliael. — Claim, £1 6s 6d. Verdict for amount claimed.
