A DISCLAIMER.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —The correspondent whoforwarded you the account of the Switzers races, states that Mr. Bradley, the fortunatwinner of the Miner's Purse is the prospector of Mr. IVrintyre's run. Ido not for a moment discredit your correspondent's statement so far as he is individually concerned, for I believe, like many others, he was mis-led i.i the matter "Blowing," or "gissing," in the colonies, i 3 all very well in its place, but lik<> every thing else when carried too far it breeds contempt for the individual so doing. I like the maxim of " Credit to whom credit is due," therefore T say at once that .Mr. Bradley, after all frs "gassing," is not th'-. prospector of the said run. Mr. Bradley did not know there was such a gully as the one he i* working in until his mate, Michael Guilfoil, took him to it to work with iiim. The real prospectors of the ran are James Sinclair and Frank Fraser, who left the "round because Mr. M'lntyre objected to their working ; his run being outside of the goldfields boundary. Besides, scores of diggers had tried the ground loug before Mr. Bradley came into the district. Some people are fond of deceiving strangers. I would therefore advise Mr Hradley for the future to tell the truth. If Mr. Bradley wants the honour of being the prospector of a new goldfbld, let hi n manly prospect for it, and then he can take the credit of so doinw. — I am, Ac, Truth and Fair Play. Waikakd.
