A CORRECTION.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, — I observe in your issue of the 2nd instant a misstate ment, which I hope you will be kind enough to correct in your next publication, namely, that in my evidence before Mr. Haughton respecting the area of auriferous land along the Tuapeka river, I estimate it at one hundred (100) acres. The estimate I gave was several hundred acres, and which I am sure are the same words taken clown by Mr. Haughton. I want the correction mado so that the good object in view may not be prejudiced ; and knowing as Ido that you feel as deeply interested in the matter as man can be, I therefore claim your indulgence. — I am, &c, James Keppel. Tuapeka, March 6 th, 1871.
