WANGANUI.
This day.
A stern-wheel steamer built for the Wanganui River Steam Shipping Coy., was launched tc-day, and she is expected to carry 60 tons of cargo, and steam 12 knots. Prior to the launch speeches were made by the Mayor and several of the directors ; one of the latter stated that the Government had been induced to throw open tbrec large blocks of land on the Wanganui, which would have been inaccessible but for the steamer. The name given to the boat is " Tuhua."
