WELLINGTON.
This day. The Million Loan Floated. The Gorernmpnt have received the following cablegram re the loan $ —" The loan has gone off most successfully, 700 tenders, amounting to £3,980,000, being received. Tenders at #99 6s 6d receive 30 per cent., and over that price in full." At an inquest held on the body of Oapt. Mathews, of the Opawa, the evidence showed that deceased had been ailing for some ten days previous to jumping overboard. A verdict of "Temporary insanify " was returned.
