AUCKLAND.

' Last night, Government Steamer Burnt.

A fire broke out at 4 o'clock this morning on board the Government pilot steamer, lying at Ponto Point, Kaipara Heads. She was completely gutted. The damage is estimated at £1000. The pilot was away with another vessel up the: North Wairoa river. The crew of the brigantine Look Out boarded the steamer, cut her mooring"!, and beached her. The origin of the fire is unknown, as no one was on board. This day. It is stated that Mr Pilbrow takes Weicome Jack, Clarence, and Mitrailleuse to Sydney.
