A respectable -poking young /woman, named Ebsina Spith, was arreited last-night in Auoltiand on a charge of ißfanticidei She wont out of her lodgings at Parnell (where she .had a baby tlirea weeks agp): in; the storm last Saturday night, and returned without the baby, with, her dre3B muddy.. She stated 'that her frienda had taken it to theWaikato. The landlord informed the police. She now states the child was - ill,: aud sho gave it laudanum and threw it over the • rliflPs at Si. George'i; Bay. She declines to state her antecedents.
Lateb.—This day., Tho body of Eosina Saiitb's baby wa» found by the -police, buried in Mason's gardens, Parneil Road. Tb.e woman was taken up to Parnell in a cab by tbe deteofcires, and when passing the gardens she said, " Don't tuke me in Lhero ; it's there." She now states that it was ill, and the gare il a dose of medicine to make it quiet, when it died. She also states that Bhe was deceived by a married man.
