Thames Hospital.

The regular monthly meeting- of the Gommittee was held yesterday afternoon. Present—Mr <T. McGowan (President), Revs. O'Reilly and Neill. and Messrs G. S. R. Fartell, J. Maivhall,:T. Radford, J. Renshaw, and J: Stone.—The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.—A complain: was made of the misconduct of George Jeanes, an inmate of the Old. Men's Refuge, who -was accused of drunkenness, and evidence had been taken by the House Committee confirming its truthfulness. The man had been discharged, from the Home,; but had been admitted as a patient to the Hospital having been taken ill. The Committee confirmed the action of the House Committee.—A fortnight's holiday was granted to wardsman W. J. Cain on account of ill health.—Only one tender for the -Fever Hospital paddock had been received, but the Gommittee did not advise its acceptance.—The. financial statement showed receipts for the quarter* ended 30th June, only £410a had been received for patients' charges, and £5 16s 6d from subscriptions. 'The total expenses during the same period (including £1014 6s 7d, previous overdraft,) amounted to £1593 15s 7d, against which claims bad been forwarded to Government for £1598 12s 7d. Accounts amounting to £101 12s were ordered to be sent to Government.— '. The House Committee was authorised to, attend to repairs required to the Hospital boiler.—On the motion 6t Mr Farrell, seconded by Mr J. Stone, It was resolved to notify Mr W. Carpenter that his seat on _ the Committee had become vacant owing to his unexplained absence from it at several meetings—lt was decided in accordance with the rules, that Mr M. J. Mulligan should be appointed by, the. Committee to fill, ihe vacancy. An amendment to the effect that the Borough Council be requested.to nominate a representative to fill the. vacancy was lost by four votes to three.—'Toefollowingwere elected House Gommittee for the ensuing month :--The Rev.
