BEIGHT SMILE.
The crushing at the Queen of Beauty battery was finished last night, nnd retort ing took place this morning for the excellent yield of BLozs retorted (77ozs sdwts melted) gold. The quantity of stuff treated was 13 loads of, general dirt and 651bs of picked stone and specimens, so that the average yield was over sozs per load. The whole of the quartz was obtained from the drive and leading stojpe on the footwall leader at the intermediate level. This drive is now within 30ft; of being under the face of the level above, and the hard rock which there pinched the leader out has i been nearly passed through. A good goldbearing class of country is:now appearing. ;in the face, and the lead'Js coming together, which augurs well ■ for its quality when the drive is adfAnced altogether clear of the unfavorable rock. :■: ,:;:/:% -yfcAM.BKIAV-//r'':'r:''■;■;:■■ ' A pleasing iniprovemenfc ha,3 been noticeable during the last day pr two in the eastern drive at the 23pffc level on the main reef.
