The New Find mine is looking well throughout, and the yield 'from the staff now going through the battery is as satis* factory as ever. In the Colonist, the most noteworthy circumstance is the improvement in the reef aa it is being sank on in the winze. The quartz got out during the last few days is exceptionally good, and holds out excellent promises of fair re* turns when the lode is opened up from the low level. It is still a matter of doubt whether the reef in the winze is identical with the one in the crosscut below. Circumstances point to the eon* elusion that it is not, but a, few days will now settle the question. The yield frost last week's crushing for the Canadian did not come up to expectations, but a> marked improvement is now observable in the reef, and better returns may be looked for shortly. Work ia the) Dia* mond Gully ba3 been suspended until the directors decide as to the methed of carrying on further operations. The Inverness continues to look well, and the Phoenix is also turning out fair crashing stuff.
