NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL. In breaking down the No. 2 reef this morning in the leading stope over the eastern drive at No. 6 level, at a point about Bft■from-the. maze, SOlba of good specimens were secured. TheJead bai become more compact here, and is also looking better in the drive. The western drive is in over 50ft, the* leader being strong and showing gold freely every breaking down. SAND OF FEIENDSHIP. v A pleasing discovery was made yesterday, and one whioh may prove of import* ancei The eastern drive on No. 1 reef at the Imperial No, 4 level is being extended, and the country has been broken since leaving the Prince boundary, while . only a color or two of gold has been seen in the stone. The sandstone is now, however, improving, being a good white clan, and; the reef is a. well mineralised body of quartz 3ft. wide. In breaking down yesterday afternoon strong colors and dabs of gold were seen, chiefly in the footwall portion. This is the first time, O' gold has i>eeji so freely seen in the company's ground, and the manager believer the dirt now coming to hand will prove payable. The country,.in the eastern drive pn No. 2 reef (still in the Prince gromnd) is also becoming more settled, and the lode is stronger. :;■ ■;■;,■; / . DART. ■/'■■;.,.- \: '■-■'"/' The crosscut at No. 4 level yesterday intersected another reef, making the third defined body passed through since leaving the chamber. It is fully two feet wide, lying in good country, and though no gold has yet been seen the quartz is far the most favorable yet cat, the minerals being good and ruby silver and a white floury substance, both good indications, being seen. The reef in striking in the tame direction as No.l and the other lode eat, and all three appear to be distinct lodei, though all within a space of 45ft. Itil somewhat strange to find*three lodes here, as nothing nearly so large was foand in No. 3 level crosscut, but it proves that the lodes are getting stronger ai they go deeper. As soon as the general dirt now being treated at the battery is through, the manager will crush trial parcels from each of the reefs to see what they are worths ". -,','. ■ •■■■-■ .' '"'. ■'•;.. ROCKY POINT and ADELAIDE. In the former mine the southern drive is being pushed ahead. The reef ia 18 inches wide in good country, bat has not shown gold for a foot or two. The leading stope was commenced today. The Adelaide proprietors started crushing to-day af Bull's mill, and the Kooky Point will follow them. The contractors for the winze from the uppen level are down 60ft, about half the distance be*, tween the two levels. BRIGHT SMILE; The manager has picked up the footwall leader beyond the "pinch " at the eastern end of the Ipw level. It is in good couo« try, and though only about 3in thick shows gold freely. Should it continue payable, he will be able to open up a large block on it here; - c$ .?■■" A*:3- ' GOL3> BETtrKNS^ A~; , . ApßtAiDE^—Williams and party banked the payable return of 290z» 2dwts gold.
