New Find.—The No. 2 reef was struck in the low level on Monday evening. A-grand show of gold is opening out. Every stone broken ia seen to contain more or less of the metal. , The winze is down now to within ten feet of the drive. A connection will be effected in a few days, and the reef will then be driven upon from the low level. The manager telegraphed yesterday :—"Cut No. 2reef in low level crosscut, showing gold ; close to reef reported yesterday. The amalgam returns for the week ending Monday night are—New Find : Tailings, 75ozs lOdwts; berdans, sOozs lOdwts; tables, 184ozs lOdwts; total, 31OozslOdwts. Colonist: Tailings, 33ozs sdwts; berdans, 21ozs adwfcs; tables, 83ozs 14dwts ; total, 138ozs 4dwts. Moa No. 2: ' Tables, 17ozs; berdans, 4ozs ; tailings, 4ozs; total, 25ozs. The cleaning up for the Phoenix is not quite completed yet, but a good return is expected.
