Southern Mining.

There appears every probability of,a highly auriferous reef beiug opened in the Welcome mine, Keefton, westward of the lode now being worked. A run of stone exposed in five different places, extending a distance of two or three hundred feet, has been found, and some of the quartz, when pounded, prospected four ounces to the ton. We understand that the directors on Monday next will be enabled to declare a dividend of 5s per (15,000 th) share, equal to £3500.

The new reef has been traced fully 300 ft in the West Welcome lease. In one place the reef is 18- inches wide and throughout carries good gold. Numerous parties have visited the ground, and are highly pleased with the prospects.— Exchange. ;
