London, April 22. At a meeting of the Marylebone Club last night, Lord Harris moved his amendment to rule ten, the object of which is to prevent unfair bowling. The motion was adopted, and the rule amended as proposed. April 23.

A report has reached Cairo that Berber has been besieged by the rebels, and several Egyptian regiments -have been ordered to proceed to that place. Recent despatches from General Gordon at Khartoum, and the peril in which he is supposed to be placed, have created great excitement in England. A movement is on foot to raise a band of 2000 Volunteers to proceed to the Soudan tc effect his rescue.
