London, January 29
A communication has been addressed by the Spanish Government to the English Government with a view to obtaining further concessions on Spanish wines imported into Great Britain.
It is expected that an additional sum of £4CO 000 in gold will shortly be withdrawn from the Bank of England for Australia.
London, January 30. A banquet was given last evening by the London Chamber of Commerce, at which the Colonial Agents-General were present. In responding to the toast of the Colonies, Sir Arthur Blyth, AgentGeneral for South Australia, said that he rejoiced at the increasing interest in the colonies which was now displayed throughout the Mother Country, and he emphatically affirmed the unwavering loyalty of the colonists to the Imperial authority.

The sculling race between Wm. Elliott and George Bubear, over the champion course, was won by the latter. The Arab Sheiks have summoned Khartoum to surrender. January 29. Great precautions, have been taken to protect HJELBL the Prince of Wales on his journey from Paddington to Bristol. The remainder of the crew of the Simla have been landed at Dunkirk (France). After the collision an attempt was made to tow. the Simla into port, but without success. Among her cargo was £4903 worth of ironwork for the Sydney Go' \ vernment. j
