The Loan.
The New Zealand loan of one million, the second million of the three million loan, has been covered. The Agent-General telegraphs that the whole of the loan has been placed above par. There were 6000 tenders, the total amount tendered for being £5,070,000. Tenders at £100 5s 6d receive 54 per cent., the remainder being placed above that price. The public accounts for the quarter ending December 31st shew as follows :— Ordinary revenue, total, £1,198,337 16a 7d ; expenditure, £865,4813s 3d; balance, £331,856 13s 4d. Land fund receipts, £150,359 Is 4d; expenditure, £65,830 16s; balance, £84,528 4s lid.
