Waiorongomai Mining.

New Find.—The manager reports as follows :—No. 1 reef, No. 1 run : No work has been done since date of last, but I intend to put two men here next week, driving south of reef in top level, which has a healthy appearance. No. 2 reef,- No. 2 run,: All hands have been kept breaking quartz from here, which is being trucked iuto the hopper and forwarded to the battery. . Two shifts have been kept driving north and south on the reef from the level, a total distance of 50 feet having been driven up to date, the -reef still looking well, carrying nice walls, and showing gold freely whenever broken down. Some ?aice gold coming to hand from the reef driving north towards junction of main reef. I have also broken down the reef in the winze from the surface to the low level, and will start stoping from here next week, being now in a position to keep more stamps going if required. Battery :Up to date 144 truckloads of quartz have been delivered at the battery, and from the look of the battery's hopper we. have close on a week's crushing at the mill. The tailings are being saved and stacked for future treatment, a small test giving the satisfactory result of 2ozs of gold per load. Crushing : The battery has been kept steadliy crushing although we were short one stamp three days through the shank breaking, and up to dale the New Find have on hand 12600zs of hard; squeezed cold-water amalgam, which, considering the quartz being" blasted down from the reef i'd both drives, winze, and surface, add forwarded to the battery without picking, I consider very satis factory. ■ •
