Coromandel Mining.
.Matawai Ciaim, Tiki.—On Wednes* day last Mr Vaughan lodged ia the Bank 59ozs retorted gold from a small crushing of 871bs of stone. He also exhibited several pieces of rich stone, the gold being very coarse; and we (Mail) are informed the general staff from which the present gold was taken is very rich. For months past Mir Vaughan has toiled in the neighborhood endeavoring to trace the loose gold found on the surface to a payable source, and about a fortnight ago he struck the reef about 80 feet south of the old workings, and in cutting through it obtained the above result. Only about two feet from the cap of the reef has yet been taken out, bat on the bottom and sides there is a first-class show of gold. The reef where cut is about four feet thick, and it will not be difficult to put in a shallow level and test its value. Mr Vaughan intends to immediately pat on several hands, and we hope to hear of several good crushinga before Christmas, <
