(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)

Sir,—Can you inform the residents of Parawai how it is the water supply is so frequently cut off without the slightest notice being given ? Perhaps the authorities are not aware that most of the residents have done away with their tanks, therefore they are left - wholly unsupplied with water. This occurred again yesterday, the water being turned off in the morning, and was not on at 9 o'clock this morning. Now, Sir, this is an injustice to the people paying for a supply, and I think in fairness should not be allowed, unless under extraordinary circumstances. The residents in the locality I have named had not a drop of water for 24 hours for domestic use, neither could any be obtained for even boiling the family kettle; lam not sure whether they have it up to the present time. By inserting the above you will oblige ! * " ONE WHO StTFFEBS.

[P.S. Several complaints on the same score have reached us; and in all cases from those deriving their supply from the Borough reservoir.—Ed. StAk.]
