Waiorongomai Mining.

Pbemiee G.M.Co.—Next week will see everything complete in this mine, and a start made to fill the hopper with quartz. Some really good quarfz came to hand during the week in rising to the surface.

Colonist G.M.Co.—A decided improvement, has taken place in the quantity of quartz now being taken out. Good progress is being made with the hopper and other work in the mine.

New Find G-.MCo.— ■The manager is pushing on vigorously with the various works under his charge. A considerable quantity of quartz will be ready for crushing when the tramway is complete. Inverness G-.M.Co.—Tenders have been called for tbfe erection of a hopper, and for drivinga main tunnel 150 feet ia length. Wheri the tunnel is completed it will give about 100 feet of backs. A start will be made to-day to bring down five tons of quartz for crushing at the Waiorongomai battery. An excellent return may be looked for from this parcel of dirt. •

Alphabetic G-.M.Co.—The manager intends forwarding a trial crushing to the battery without delay. Etjeeka Gr.MT.Co.—Work is Jsteadily progressing in this mine. The men are now engaged sinking and rising to connect the low level with the surface. About eight feet intervenes between the rise and winze. When the connection is made an almost unlimited supply of crushing dirt can be broken out for forwarding to the battery. The quartz at present coming to hand is superior to any yet obtained. Arrangements are now being made to connect the mine, with the County tram" way.—News. '
