This day. Wm. Jenkins of Crichton Park, farmer, has filed a declaration of Insolvency ; his debts are stated to be £20,255; assets £20,730.

The Land Board to day commenced taking evidence re dummyism. None of the principal witnesses who were summoned appeared, and the Board on the motion of Mr Stout, carried a resolution empowering the chairman to take legal proceedings «for the recoyery.of the penal ties nnder the commissioner's powers act. Mr Bradshaw was examined and stated that the persons for whom he acted assured him that they were bonafide purchasers.

The Leith Committee granted twelve o'clock licenses in all cases except one, even in out of the way places.
