Frederick Wells was charged with killing a pig on his premises, Owen street, such premises not being duly licensed. The defendant stated that he had to kill the pig without loss of time, as it was suffering, and upon opening it, he found a bone in its throat. Fined Is.
CIVIL SIDE. Judgment foe Plaintiffs. Veale v. Bradley .—Claim, £18 6s; costs £1 9s 6d.
Wight v. Fisher.-—Claim, £1 13s; costs 7s.
Same v. Perkins.—Claim 4s for a bushel of maize which the plaintiff alleged was spilt from the defendant's dray through, careless stacking. Same v. Latham.—Claim, 15s 2ri ; costs 7s.
Same v. Tooher.—Claim, £3 Is 4d; costs 7s.
Same v. Lanham.—Claim, £116s; costs 7s.
Phillips and Son v. Bradley.—Claim, £10 3d lid; costs £219s 6d.
Same v. Stanley.—Claim, £3 Is; cost, 7s.
Mason v Curnow —Claim, £6125; costs, 11s.
Casey v Heron. —Claim, £7 12s 4d; costs, 11s.
Me Williams v Hauraki Gold Mining Company.—Claim, £8 11s for work done. Mr Miller appeared for the plaintiff, The manager of the company admitted that the work had been done, but pleaded that the plantiff had been paid for it. After hearing the evidence of the legal mine managers as to payments made to Me Williams, Mr Miller applied for leave to amend his particulars. The Bench nonsuited the plaintiff, and allowed the defendants £4 17s costs.
