[Received April 3, noon.] Sydney, This day. - The New South Wales revenue for the last quarter amounted to £1,510,000 shewing a decrease of £162,500 compared with the same quarter in last year. The
Custom's revenue was increased by £23,5C3, and the railway receipts by £49,250, but the revenue from land shows a decrease of £158,000. The expenditure for the March quarter amounted to £410,0C0. The revenue for the year ended'on 31st March was £7,260,000 shewing an increase of £259,500 compared with the year 1882.

The machinery of the Austral bas been found to be but little injured by'its long immersion, and only requires cleaning to be again in proper working order. Melbourne, Yesterday. The Victorian revenue returns to the3lsfcMarch hare been published. They j show that the total receipts for March J quarter amounted to £1,475,000, being a j decrease of £67,000 compared with same quarter of last year. The falling off is chiefly in excise and revenue. The revenue for the year ended 31st March is £5,631,030, being an increase of £8800, or a net increase of £4200 in the first nine months of the financial year ending 30th June. Arrived—The P. and O. Company s steamship Shannon, with the Suez mail, which left London on February 23. The Court of Appeal has refused to disturb the verdict in favor of defendant which was passed last month in an action for libel brought by De Mestre, the wellknown horse owner, against Syme, the proprietor of the Leader. . Adelaide, Yesterday. The South Australian revenue for the quarter amounts to £579,000, being an increase of £8000 compared with the same quarter of 1882. The revenue for the nine months ended 31sfc March is £1,578,0C0, and shows a decrease of £146,009 compared withHhe same period of 1881 82. The falling off is chiefly in land revenue, and is due to a bad season. Arrived* this morning —The Orient steamship Garronne, from Plymouth (Feb. 13).
