This day. Arrived : S.s. Australia, from Sydney
Severe Gale at Fiji.
A severe gale visited Fiji on March the 17th. Numberless roofs and verandahs in Levuka were carried away, and a halfcaste woman and child killed by a falling building. The shipping io the harbour escaped with great damage. The schooner Nautilus lost both masts.—-The threemasted schooner Redcoat was wrecked at Tavaiuni on the 24th February. A double shop in Wellington street was burnt this morning. The insurance on the building was £450 in the Union, and on Cameron's stock and furniture £225. The second shop was unoccupied.
