CHRISTCHURCH.
Yesterday. A crew to represent the Union Bowing Club at the Wellington interprovincial contest left by the Hauroto. A public meeting, addressed by several ladies, was held this evening in Sydenbam Oddfellows' Hall. Resolutions were passed protesting against the action of the Licensing Committee in encouraging the erection of additional hotels; also for the appointment of a committee to collect subscriptions, employ counsel, and organise against an increase of licensed houses in the Borongb.
