NEW PLYMOUTH.

This day. Paribaka was almost deserted when Te Whiti arrived ; the majority of the natives being engaged at work in the bush. As soon as the news reached them however, they lost no time in assembling at Parihaka, and greeted their chief with songs •of welcome. A number of natives were assembled this morning at Paribaka from various directions, and it is stated that a large meeting will be held on the 18th of this month, Te Whiti's regular annual meeting day for the purpose of inauguration the meeting; when representatives of all tbe tribes ot the district are to be invited.
