A man named Byrne has-been arrested here, the British Government having demanded his extradition. He is charged with complicity in the reoent disclosed Irish conspiracies.
Mr Gladstone arrived here to-day from Cannes. He will have an interview with several leading French statesmen during his stay, and a banquet will be given in his honour at the British Embassy.
London, February 27.
Consols to»day were quoted at 102f being an advaace off; there are no further changes to report in money or colonial produce markets.
At to-day's wool sale 10,000 bales were catalogued. The market was quieter but steady.
The Hon. W. E. 11. Carrington, Liberal M.P. for High Wycombe, has resigned his seat in the House of Commons.
